Tech Tip: "Get Current Printer" will not return the name of your printer on OS X and OS 9.
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 2003 | PLATFORM: Mac
Published On: April 18, 2003

For Mac OS X
Get Current Printer is a new command and allows you to grab the name of the printer queue name and not the actual printer name that is used.

To find the queue name, open Applications:Utilities:Print Center. In the printer list, highlight your printer and click printers and select "Show Info."

A window should appear telling you what the printer name is and what the queue name is.

For Mac OS 9
Get Current Printer will not work on OS 9.2
