The concept of data visualization has been around for as long as the human race has existed. Whether it was cave drawings to communicate stories, maps to help voyagers, or advertising to sell products, data visualization is a major part of our everyday lives. Over the past few years, data visualization has become a very popular area in the software development world. As a 4D developer, I have been trying to visually “wow” my target audience for many years. The primary reasons for this are:

  • To provide effective and efficient communication

  • To differentiate our product in the market place

  • To provide a dynamic, modern interface (sex-appeal)

However, to be honest this has never been an easy task within the 4D world. This session is focused on one very powerful way to harness data visualization, providing your user base with a dynamic, modern interface while not spending man-years or thousands of dollars attempting to achieve it.
