Tech Note: Selecting the Proper Transport Layer on the Macintosh Version of 4D Server
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 3.x | PLATFORM: Mac
Published On: January 1, 1996

In order for 4D Client running under Windows 3.1(1), Windows 95, or Windows NT 3.5.x to access a 4D Server running on the Macintosh, the database administrator must select the appropriate network protocol on the server machine. The appropriate transport layer must be selected in order for the Windows clients to properly decode network packets sent by the server. This document describes how to properly set the appropriate transport layer on 4D Server running on a Macintosh so that packet structures will be universally compatible with 4D Client running on all platforms.
