This is a technical note that explains how to allocate memory to 4D and how 4D uses that memory. It explains how to increase the memory reserved for 4D running on Windows and on the Macintosh. Some optimal settings for speed and performance on Power and PCI Macs are given. And finally, a technique using MacsBug (Macintosh only, sorry Windows) that can help you determine the percentage of 4D Server's total memory that can be allocated specifically to the cache.
