This technical note explains how to search a hierarchical list. It is easy to create this functionality using 4D.

Hierarchical lists are different from other objects in 4th Dimension due to the way they store data. They store “items” of data and the relations these items have with other items. These relations are basic parent/child relations where any item can be a parent to a number of other items and any item can have one parent.
