Tech Note: How to quit 4D Server while running stored procedures
PRODUCT: 4D Server | VERSION: 6.0 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: February 1, 1998

Among the new features added to version 6 of 4D Server is the capability to execute stored procedures. A stored procedure is a 4D method that is executed on the server machine within a 4D process.

As methods can now be executed on the server machine, it becomes necessary to pay more attention to the shutdown of the server machine. Shutdown should only take place after the execution of stored procedures has completed.

This technical note describes how a server shutdown should be performed with stored procedures. It also describes the proper client disconnection prior to server shutdown.
