Tech Note: The Object Name Property
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 6.0 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: November 1, 1998

Some of the new features in 4D version 6 are modifications of the previous feature set. One new feature is Object Names, which provide another way of referencing objects on a form. Any object on a form, such as a field, line or static text, now can have the Object Name property. An Object Name can be defined independently from its field or variable name. For example, the button named bAccept could have the Object Name "button1", "b1" or "var(1)".
