In the past, when a developer wished to modify resources in 4th Dimension structure files, he or she would use a resource editor such as ResEdit or Resorcerer. Now, with 4D version 6, developers can now access resource files programmatically. This technical note shows how to modify STR# resources using 4th Dimension instead of the traditional resource editing program. It includes a sample database called "FlushKeys V6," which allows the developer to open a copy of 4th Dimension and change the character used for flushing buffers. Also included is a sample database called "4D Localizer," which shows how to localize a database for other languages. In the past, when a developer wished to modify resources in 4th Dimension structure files, he or she would use a resource editor such as ResEdit or Resorcerer.
