Tech Note: 4D v6 Tab Objects
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 6.0 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: January 1, 1999

Version 6 of 4D saw the introduction of tab objects. If you have ever implemented tabs in a v3 database by using graphic images with invisible buttons, you’ll find the new tab object both a time and memory saver. Additionally 4D uses tab objects within many of its palettes.

Tab objects are a highly useful way to manage multi-page forms. They use very little memory, execute quickly and look good. They are intuitive for users. The most difficult part of using tabs is deciding which way to implement them. Tabs can be used on either detail or list forms -- the list-based tab offers the most flexibility
