Tech Note: Preventing Syntax Errors in 4D Expressions When Converting
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 6.0.6 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: March 1, 1999

If you have inserted 4D expressions (4D commands) in a plug-in area and then convert a database from version 3 to version 6, 4D cannot determine which version of 4D was used when creating the expression and returns syntax errors. This technical note explains how to prevent
these errors by using a resource.

In this technical note, we use 4D Write as an example. Please note that the solution is the same with all the other 4D plug-ins.

Important: You must use 4D version 6.0.6 or later.
