There are several operations in 4D that will display a progress dialog when they are operating on a large selection of records. An example of this operation is the query operation. When you perform a query on a large selection of records, 4D will display a progress dialog box indicating the progress of the operation. By default, the progress indicator is displayed as a number.

For those of you who prefer to see the progress being displayed in the thermometer format, the progress indicator's display option can be changed in the first tab of the Database Property.
