Tech Tip: 4D Memory Allocation in Mac OS X
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: | PLATFORM: Mac OS X
Published On: October 5, 2001

Prior to the release of Mac OS X, 4D required Mac OS memory allocation to be statically set by using the Finder's Get Info dialog box and entering the amount of memory to be reserved for the application. With the release of version 6.7.5 running native in Mac OS X, memory is now dynamically allocated by the operating system, meaning that memory is assigned to 4D as needed. This eliminates the need to set the application memory allocation in advance.
