Both interpreted and compiled databases can be transported across platforms using 4D Transporter. However, there is one important requirement that the compiled database must comply with. The database must be compiled for the platform that it will run on. For example, if you are compiling your database on the Mac and wish to transport it into the PC, you need to turn on the Windows option before you begin the compilation. This ensures that the compiled code is compatible with the machine language that the PC's processor can recognize.
