Starting with version 6.5, there is no automatic update of the references in a 4D Write external window. If the information in the current record has been changed or a new record is loaded, you will need to force the update by selecting "Compute references now" from the Tools menu. You can also choose to force the update by executing:

(Area;wr cmd compute references)

Note: Use the External Reference number (Window reference number that is returned by the command OPEN EXTERNAL WINDOW) for Area reference number.
