Tech Tip: The error "File Not Found" when opening a structure file
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: | PLATFORM: Win
Published On: May 2, 2002

Compatibility: 6.5.x, 6.7.x and 6.8

When you attempt to open a structure file and you get the error: "File not found. The database cannot be used," this may be because the resource file of the structure file is missing. As you may already know, on Windows, what is commonly referred to as a "structure file" is actually two files: a .4db file which holds the structure data and a .rsr file which holds the structure's resource data. The resource file should be located next to the other structure file and should bear the same name with the exception of the extension.
