Regardless of where the plug-ins are copied, 3 WIN4DX folders on Windows or 3 MAC4DX folders on Macintosh are created by 4D Client. These folders are used to store the plug-ins downloaded from the server, if there are any. Where the plug-ins are copied, depends on where the plug-ins are on the server:
Windows 2000/XP
- If the plug-ins on the server are located in the plug-in folder next to the database, then the plug-ins are copied to: {Disk}:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\4D\MyDatabase.4DB\WIN4DX
- If the plug-ins on the server are located in the plug-in folder next to the server, then the plug-ins are copied to: {Disk}:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\4D\MyDatabase.4DB\4D Plugins\WIN4DX
- If the plug-ins on the server are located in the plug-in folder of the system folder, then the plug-ins are copied to: {Disk}:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Application Data\4D\MyDatabase.4DB\4D\WIN4DX
Mac OS X
- If the plug-ins on the server are located in the plug-in folder next to the database, then the plug-ins are copied to: {Disk}:Library:Application Support:4D:MyDatabae.4DB:MAC4DX
- If the plug-ins on the server are located in the plug-in folder next to the server application, then the plug-ins are copied to: {Disk}:Library:Application Support:4D:MyDatabae.4DB:4D Plugins:MAC4DX
- If the plug-ins on the server are located in the plug-in folder of the system folder, then the plug-ins are copied to: {Disk}:Library:Application Support:4D:MyDatabae.4DB:4D:MAC4DX
