The Golden Rule: Always backup your data! When it comes to the world of e-commerce, this rule is no exception. To perform a backup, or in 4D Business Kit terms, an archive, select Store Manager from the Tools menu. A listing of all the stores is displayed. Select a store to archive. To view the contents of the store, click on the little house icon to the left of the store name. The name of the store must be highlighted in order to archive that store. Click on the "create an archive" button, provide a location for the archive, and you are good to go!

To restore an archive, again select the Store Manager from the Tools menu. Click on the icon that says, "Select an archive." Browse to the folder that was created when you performed the archive and click "OK." The name of the folder will be in the following format: workspace_name(Store Code). Once the archive is opened, you are free to copy whatever component of that store into any store in your current workspace.
