PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 6.8.2 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: August 31, 2002

The purpose of this technical note is to explain how to use the Picture library in 4D. The Picture library has been an essential part of the 4th Dimension development environment since version 6.0. Significant performance enhancements have been made with the Picture library in versions 6.5 and 6.7, particularly in terms of new 4D commands.

The Picture library can be used to store those graphics that you want to use as design elements in forms, in toolbars or as list icons, picture menu items, or picture buttons. The Picture library is a floating window that can be utilized in design mode by selecting the item Picture library from the Tools menu. It is in this floating window that you can see and list all pictures that are stored in the library.
