There are a few things to look for when encountering this error under MacOSX:

1. Make sure the structure isn't already open by another 4D application.

2. Make sure the structure isn't locked.

3. Make sure there are sufficient privileges to open and modify the structure file.

Note: You must have both Read and Write privileges to the structure file in order for 4D Customizer to open the structure.
