Tech Tip: Type-ahead in the method editor

Starting with 4D version 2003, the Method editor now has an enhanced “type-ahead” feature This type of feature was previously available (in a much more limited form) in prior versions of 4D using a “wildcard” (@) character. From now on, 4th Dimension automatically displays propositions based on the first few characters typed:
The following types of objects can be displayed:
- 4D command
- User method
- Table name
- Field name
- Constant
- Plug-in command
- 4D keyword
- Macros
