The best column width is the smallest width that will still display the longest text in either a cell or the column header.

To obtain the best column width manually, requires you to double-click the column header or select the column and choose STYLE -> COLUMN -> AUTOMATIC WIDTH.

To do this procedurally, use the PV EXECUTE command like this:

PV EXECUTE COMMAND (area;pv cmd style column auto width )
