Microsoft released recently a new version of its famous productivity software suite: Microsoft Office 2003. Microsoft introduces its new suite of software not as a suite of personal productivity products but more as a comprehensive and integrated system. The big improvement of Office from Office XP to Office 2003 is the support for industry-standard Extensible Markup Language (XML). It is supposed to help solve many business problems.
Today in its 4th Dimension 2003 version, 4th Dimension also supports the XML standard, and it should be then easier to integrate 4D and Office 2003. XML is not the only way to communicate with Office application though; it can also be done through the Web Services.
