Version 2003.2 for Mac and Windows
If you cannot repair your data file, it is possible that the resource file (.4DR on Windows) has been corrupted. If this is the case, swapping a new resource file with your old version is a possible fix. Here are the procedures to do this on both platforms:
PC:
- Make a backup of your database and save the original data file
- Create a new database; you will now have your old data file and a new data file
- Swap the old .4DR file associated with the original data file with the new .4DR file created by the new database
- You should now have the original data file with a new .4DR file
- Now try to repair your data file with 4D Tools
MAC:
- Make a backup of your database and save the original data file
- Create a new database; you will now have your old data file and a new data file
- For both data files, use 4D Transporter to transport the data to the PC platform
- Make sure you do this separately
- When you are done, swap the old .4DR file associated with the original data file with the new .4DR file created by the new database
- You should now have the original data file with a new .4DR file
- Transport the original data file with its new .4DR file over to the Mac platform with 4D transporter
- Now try to repair your data file with 4D Tools
