Tech Tip: Sending Custom Emails to the Merchant
PRODUCT: 4D Business Kit | VERSION: 2.x | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: August 5, 2004

4D Business Kit will allow you to send a default email message containing everything regarding the order just placed on the store. The problem with this default email order notice is that you can't edit the contents of this email; it's static and therefore not customizable. If you want to customize the information sent to the merchant, you can create a text or html file with the data you want. Then, using the 4DBKMail command, you can send that text or html file to the merchant's email address.

If you do decide to use your own text or html file, be sure to turn off the default order notice. It can be turned on or off by going into the store properties ("File" --> "Store..") and then selecting your store. Next, select "Orders" from the drop down menu. Check or uncheck the option for "Send Email for each new order."
