Since 4D 2003.3, there is an option in the Client/Server page of the “Application” theme in the Preferences called "Use automatic client reconnection". When checked, this feature allows 4D Client to attempt an automatic reconnect whenever the client is unexpectedly disconnected. This option applies to all 4D Clients that are connected to the server.



Note: 4D Client will attempt the reconnect only once. If the reconnection fails, the standard -10002 error is generated. Also, the server-side timeout should be set to greater than 1 minute.
