Since the 4D Customizer Plus utility is no longer available with 4D 2004 (its primary functions have been integrated into 4D!), it is now quite easy to prevent the splash screen from displaying. All you need to do is from the Preference dialog, select Application/Options dialog. At the bottom right uncheck the check box for Display splash screen.
