PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 2004 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: November 23, 2004

MySQL and PostgreSQL are relational database management systems that use Structured Query Language (SQL). They are two of the most popular Open Source Databases. Some 4D solutions interface with these two databases through ODBC. This technical note will introduce two new products that provide a more direct communication to MySQL and PostgreSQL from a 4D database. It will also cover the steps that you need to know when implementing a 4D database that works with MySQL and PostgreSQL. The communication from 4D to MySQL and PostgreSQL will be demonstrated through the two new 2004 plug-ins 4D for MySQL and 4D for PostgreSQL.
