Changing the splash screen image has changed in 4D 2004. It is no longer possible to paste a picture in preview mode. Instead, in the Design environment, open the Menus theme in the new Toolbox (Design -> Toolbox -> Menus). In the lower right hand corner, left-click on the empty box and a pop-up menu will appear (Figure 1). Select "Paste from Clipboard" and your image will now appear on the splash screen.
