Tech Tip: Changing Print Settings for a form in 4D 2004 (non-programatically)
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 2004.1 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: May 5, 2005

In previous versions of 4th Dimension, the conventional way to alter print settings for a form was to bring focus onto the form in design mode and choose FILE->PAGE SETUP. A dialog window will prompt up allowing for changes to be made and once the ok button is clicked, the print settings for that form will be saved. The print settings will only apply to the form in focus.

In contrast, 4th Dimension 2004, the print settings can be only altered (non-programatically) in the property list box of the form. Clicking on the Edit button in the Settings section of the Print category in the property list of the form will display a print settings dialog box.

Clicking OK will save the settings to the form that is associated with the property list. Moreover, print settings defined from the File menu are used for the current session in the Design environment and are not saved.
