When exporting or importing records in 4D, one of the file format you can choose is the 4th Dimension format. This format is specific only to 4D. It allows you to export all data types including pictures and BLOB and import them on another database. You simply select 4th Dimension in the Format field of the export dialog which will allow you to save exported records in a “.4IE” file. Then in the import dialog, you can select this file to import into another database. This format makes it easy to exchange records between different 4D databases.
