Published On: March 3, 2006

In the Method editor, you can move or copy selected text using the drag-and-drop mechanism. The drag-and-drop mechanism is activated as soon as a portion of text is selected. By default, the drag-and-drop mechanism moves the selected text.

1. Open the Method editor while in Design mode
2. Select a line of text
3. Move the mouse cursor over text selection
4. Click and hold the mouse button
5. Drag and drop the text selection to its new location
6. Release the mouse button

In order to copy a text selection, hold down the Ctrl key (Windows) or the Option key (Mac OS) before dropping the text selection.

The drag-and-drop mechanism inside a method can be enabled/disabled using the Allow Drag option (checked by default) located in the application Preferences dialog box, on the Method Editor page (“Design Mode” theme).
