Tech Tip: Avoiding errors during multiple saving of an XML file
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 2004 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: March 17, 2006

4D DOM EXPORT TO FILE command saves a XML structure as a file on a disk. When saving the file using this command, a small delay will occur between the time command was executed and the file is actually saved. If a 4D application attempts to read or write to the same XML file before the file is completely saved, an unexpected behaviour or an error will occur. To avoid this, you can use the DELAY PROCESS command to allow the XML file to be saved completely.
