Tech Tip: Where can I edit an ascii map in 4D 2004?
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 2004 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: March 17, 2006

To access the dialog from which you can edit an ASCII map, do the following:

-Open Preferences.
-Select the "Web" topic.
-Select the "Options" sub-topic.
-Select "User defined" under "Text Conversion".
-Click the button for "Edit Input Filter" or "Edit Output Filter".

The dialog that is prompted allows to modify the ascii maps and save them to disk. Using the ascii map will determine the conversion of ASCII characters that 4D Web server performs when sending or receiving an HTML document (dynamic or static pages).

In addition, the ascii maps created and saved to disk can also be used with importing and exporting data. To specify an ascii map when importing and exporting, execute USE ASCII MAP command to specify the ascii map to use.
