In the Custom Menus mode of 4D 2004 there is a build-in toolbar. The contents of this toolbar are actually built from the menus of the application. You can customize which items appear on the toolbar using the Menu Editor of the Toolbox.

For example, to create a new toolbar icon for a menu command:

1. Open the Toolbox and select the Menus page.
2. Highlight the menu item you want to have on the toolbar.
3. Notice the "Toolbar Icon" property. Here you can set the toolbar icon for this command.
4. You can add new icons to the Picture Library, or provide them in your own resource files.
