In 4D 2004.3 a new automated mechanism has been added to create a backup when the log file approaches the critical size of 2GB. To accomplish this 4D initiates a backup of the database, thus allowing it to close the current log file and open a new one. This mechanism is used to avoid a situation where the size of the log file could alter application performance. During the automatic Backup procedure the current backup parameters are use so that it behaves the same as a manual backup.
