Tech Tip: Creating multiple buttons when designing a form
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: February 25, 2000

A short cut to designing an input form with buttons is to create one button and then copy and paste it so all the buttons are consistent in appearance. Once the buttons are positioned on the first page, additional pages can be created. The designer can then select all the buttons on page one simultaneously, copy and paste them into each successive page. The buttons will be copied in the same position as the first page. This way, as the user goes to the next page, it looks as though the same buttons are on each page. A word of caution, the designer must make sure to edit the object properties of the buttons to give each button a unique object name and proper action. This must be done to ensure the button will be active and carry out the proper action at the proper time.
