Tech Tip: The F10 key on Windows
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: 2004.5 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: February 7, 2007

With 4D you can assign keyboard shortcuts to your form objects. You can, for example, allow your users to press any of the Function keys (F1-F12) at the top of keyboard instead of clicking on a button in your form.

However, there is one thing to keep in mind if you plan on deploying your database to both Mac and Windows users; the F10 key on the Windows platform is a reserved shortcut for the operating system, which puts the focus into the menu bar of the application you have open. So if you plan on assigning the Function keys as shortcuts, but sure to leave F10 alone.
