4D Live Window uses the underlying Webkit for the platform it is running on (e.g. Microsoft WebBrowser Control for Windows and the Safari Webkit for Mac). This is why 4D Live Window plug-in areas can behave differently on each platform and why some file formats are exclusively supported.

Examples of exclusive formats for each platform are Microsoft Word and Excel documents for Windows and Dashboard Widgets for Mac. As the file support for these frameworks expands so too will the functionality of 4D Live Window expand.
