The Backup process in 4D 2004 first creates the backup archive and then verifies the contents of the archive. The verification process can be quite long depending on the size of the database.

In 4D 2004.5 the options was added to allow the developer to disable the verification portion of the 4D Backup process. This is controlled with the Backup XML key "CheckArchiveFileDuringBackup".
