Tech Tip: Using 4D Insider to create an empty database
PRODUCT: 4D | VERSION: | PLATFORM:
Published On: July 30, 1999

4D Insider can create empty 4D databases. The new database contains no tables or other objects. This is useful if you need to copy tables in from another database. A 4D created database always contains an empty table.

After creating the new empty database with 4D Insider you can copy tables, methods and other objects into the empty database from other 4D databases or Insider libraries.

If you attempt to save an empty database created with 4D Insider you will be prompted to create a table before it will save. This is because all 4D databases must contain at least one table.
