Tech Tip: Killing versus sleeping processes

Processes are relatively quick to create — they often take several times longer to die. When a process terminates it must clean up after itself: unlock records, free up memory, clear variables.
If you have a lot of processes starting and then terminating it may be better to hide them, pause them and then resume them when needed.

HIDE PROCESS

Remove all memory using objects by reducing selections to zero, clearing variables and unload records.

PAUSE PROCESS

RESUME PROCESS when required.
