Tech Tip: The Default Home Page
PRODUCT: 4D Web 2.0 Pack | VERSION: 1.1 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: July 11, 2007

PLEASE NOTE: This Tech Tip applies to 4D Web 2.0 Pack version 1.1

The Default Home Page field in 4D Preferences has special meaning to developers who have the 4D Ajax Framework. This is the first page users will go to when they connect to the web server. Here, developers with the 4D Ajax Framework can determine whether or not the users will connect to one of two possibilities:

  1. The default 4D Ajax Framework client environment, or

  2. A custom HTML page with dynamic 4D Ajax Framework embedded objects.

To make users go to the default 4D Ajax Framework client environment enter "index.html" in this field (as specified by the Installation Guide).

If you are using your own HTML page, enter the name of it here (and be sure to place the HTML file in the Default HTML Root folder).

To access the Default Home Page field go to Preferences -> Web in 4D.
