4D v11 SQL supports a new "Keyword" index type, which can be applied to Text fields. The DISTINCT VALUES command has been updated to support this new type of index. When DISTINCT VALUES is called on a keyword-indexed field, the resulting array is populated with all keywords from the index in the current selection for that field.
