Tech Tip: Reading any type of Picture file

The READ PICTURE FILE(fileName;picture{;*}) command accepts an optional parameter (*). When you pass this parameter, the command accepts any type of file. This allows you to work with pictures without necessarily having the appropriate codec. For more information see the documentation for the BLOB TO PICTURE command:

If you want to know the available codecs in your machines, a list of available formats can be obtained using the PICTURE CODEC LIST command.
