4D v11 SQL introduces a new resource architecture. Resources in 4D v11 SQL use a file-based system, which greatly differs from previous versions of 4D, which used a resource fork-based system. The fork-based system is being progressively abandoned, so while it is recommended to upgrade all resources to use the new architecture, compatibility mechanisms have been implemented to allow the old-style resources to continue to function in 4D v11 SQL.
