Tech Tip: Changes to ports in 4D Server v11 SQL
PRODUCT: 4D Server | VERSION: 11.2 | PLATFORM: Mac & Win
Published On: November 3, 2008

4D Server v11 SQL uses 3 ports:

  • SQL Server: 19812 (default)
  • Application Server: 19813 (default)
  • DB4D Server: 19814 (default)

In the 4D v11 SQL Server, you can set the Application Server and SQL Server Ports in preferences, but not the DB4D Server Port. The DB4D Server Port will always be the "Application Server Port #" + 1 (i.e. 19813 + 1 = 19814).

If a firewall is present all of these ports must be opened.

Please note that even if these 3 ports are open, you still might not be able to see your database published in the Available tab of the Connection to 4D Server window. This occurs because 4D Server v11 SQL uses different port #s to publish the database name.
