When trying to connect to 4D Server using 4D Client, you may get the following error: "The resource cache file cannot be created." This means that after the copy of the plug-ins, the .res and .rex files could not be created.

This can have several origins:

1. If there are some forbidden characters in the database's name or if the database name is too long. For example, if the client is running on a MacOS machine and the name of the database, served on a Windows machine, is over 23 characters (extension not included).
2. If the client has no Write access to the ACI preferences folder.
