Tech Tip: Sending messages from 4D Server

In 4D Server v11 SQL, the administrator can send messages to clients that are logged on:
On Windows, the message appears by the task bar in a balloon:
On Mac, the message appears in a pop up window:

Sending messages and using the "Reject New Connections" feature is a very usefull combination for getting all users to log off of the server.

This is a great feature for notifying the users during maintenance or shutdown.
