Tech Note: 4D Gantt Chart Component

The Gantt chart is a graphical project management tool that facilitates creating and manipulating different projects. It visualizes the time frames for sub-projects included into a main project. This graphical representation allows better time management and more effective tracking of the current state of the projects regarding the milestones.

This Technical Note demonstrates how to build such a tool by using the SVG component, 4D SVG, in 4D v11 SQL. A Gantt chart component is provided that can be implemented in any time management database.

This Technical Note is very interesting in its implementation of Gantt Charts. For me there is a lot more value in it though in the fact that it shows how to use the 4D SVG component. That is a really powerful tool and SVG is an awesome technology to have available in 4D. This Tech Note is just one of many assets in KB that will help developers new to SVG harness that power.
