Tech Tip: Organizing Macros

Macros can be organized simply by changing the names and re-ordering the individual macros within the macros files.

Organizing the macros can allow you to sort the macros menus how you like, increase the readability of the macros menus, create different sections of macros and create quickly accessible macros via type-ahead.

Here are a few examples of how macros can be organized:

Simple numbering:


Alphabetical:


Team developing:


The last example can be very useful for team development when each developer has their own macros that they prefer. This also comes in very handy when using type-ahead. A developer's macros can be quickly acessed simply by typing their name, initials, or other unique identifier into the method editor.
